HMC470 is a wideband 5-bit GaAs IC digital attenuator in a low-cost leadless surface mount package. This digital attenuator for each single positive voltage control circuit uses off-chip AC grounded capacitors and works near DC. This feature makes it very suitable for various RF and IF applications. Operating at frequencies from DC to 3 GHz, the insertion loss is less than 1.5 dB typical.
For a total attenuation of 31 dB, the attenuator bit values ÔÇïÔÇïare 1 (LSB), 8, 2, 4, and 16 dB. The attenuation accuracy is very high, the typical step size error is ┬▒0.3 dB, and the IIP3 is +45 dBm. Five TTL/CMOS control inputs are used to select each attenuation state. Need +5V Vdd single bias.
